The release of EA Sports FC 24 – the much-anticipated replacement for the Fifa games – is just days away.
EA Sports has confirmed it will release both an Ultimate Team Web App and Companion App for the new game, as it did for Fifa, and as always it will launch a few days ahead of the game itself.
The Web and Companion Apps are vital tools for Ultimate Team players, as they allow you to access features like the transfer market and store from your phone or laptop and look after your team on the go, rather than having to boot up your console.
When is the EA Sports FC Web App out?
The EA Sports FC 24 Web App will be released on Wednesday 20 September at 6pm BST, with the Companion App going live the following day, Thursday 21 September.
The Companion App will be available on the Apple Store and Google Play Store, and is free. The Web App is an in-browser version of the Companion App, so does not need to be downloaded.
What is the Web App for?
The Web and Companion Apps allow you to:
- Manage and share Ultimate Team squads
- Search, sell and trade items in the transfer market
- Purchase packs and points from the Ultimate Team store
- Complete squad building challenges
- Complete squad management objectives
- Redeem rewards
- Check the Ultimate Team leaderboards
- Customise the active stadium

How much will the game cost?
The standard edition of EA Sports FC 24 will cost £69.99, with the Ultimate edition coming in at £99.99. This is for PC and all consoles, with the exception of the Nintendo Switch, for which there is only a standard edition, which costs £59.99.
On top of early access the Ultimate edition also includes 4,600 FC points, access to Nike Ultimate Team campaign, a TOTW 1 Ultimate Team player item, a Nike Ultimate Team loan player item for 24 Ultimate Team matches and Nike x EA Sports Ultimate Team kit, and an UCL/UWCL hero.
What should we expect from EA Sports FC
In general, you can expect the EA Sports FC games to be extremely similar to their predecessors. They have been developed by the same team, and EA has been able to secure licences with all the major leagues and clubs.
For the first time ever, women’s players will be included in Ultimate Team. This will have a big impact on chemistry, as it several new leagues, but you will be able to match women with men who play for the same club, and national affiliation will still match too.
The latest version of the Hypermotion gameplay engine has made the game’s physics even more realistic, while the game has also introduced PlayStyles. The world’s best players will have a PlayStyle or a PlayStyle+, allowing them to access specific skills that match their abilities in real life.
“Optimised by real-world Opta data and data from other sources, PlayStyles dimensionalises athletes, going beyond overall ratings to bring to life the on-pitch abilities that make players special. Each PlayStyle affects gameplay, giving players unique capabilities you’ll see and feel that make their way of playing more authentic,” EA Sports says.
Other improvements include more realistic player models, kits moving in a more genuine way such as rustling in the wind, and deeper cutscenes.
Manchester City’s Erling Haaland will be on the cover, replacing Kylian Mbappe.
